Who is Rilei?
Born in San Pedro California , Rilei “Mesa” Trebotic grew up with a natural obsession with animals, nature, and drawing. She spent hours toiling over the “Warriors” cat book series and watching “Animal Planet”. As she got older she started to lean into practicing art more to express this intense interest in animals, creating characters and worlds filled with animal societies. By the time she turned 12 she made a vow that when she grew up she’d be a professional artist.
Rilei graduated from ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, CA with a B.F.A. in Illustration Design in 2025. After College she has pursued freelancing online and a path in paleontology. Her goal for her career is to make designs for museums, zoos, and national parks. She is excited and enthusiastic for her future!
